Regional are League champions for 2017/2018
Girls Under 12 Premier 08/04 15:00
Kilmallock A 0 - 5 Regional United A

Regional United put in a champions display against Kilmallock to win this years league title. Kilmallock were worthy opponents with some excellent saves from their goalie and a great work rate from the entire Kilmallock team but with only 8 players they were not a match for Regional.

Regional's goalie Eva Long kept her clean sheet which brings the number of goals conceded by Regional in the league to only a single goal. Niamh Mannix added to her goal tally with another hat trick, bringing her total to 10 goals for the season. Other goal scores were Carrie Carroll and Zoe Reeves Wasik also adding to their season tally. EllaMay Roche controlled midfield, and delivered great balls into the forward line, two of Mannix's goals coming off her deflections. Defence was exceptionally strong and all starters were ably assisted by and replaced with strong team mates in the 2nd half. All in all it was a great team display and Regional proved they were worthy League winners.

Murroe v Cappamore Celtic
Murroe u14s start new year with win in local Derby.
Under14 Prem 30/09 14:00
Murroe 3 - 1 Cappamore Celtic
Murroe claimed the spoils in closely fought derby game played in great conditions. Cappamore started brightly but Jamie Kirby in Murroe goals kept out an early effort from Billy Daly. Soon Murroe gained control with the Quaid twins Killian & Liam winning the midfield battle. David Moloney opened the scoring after 8mins latching on to a through ball from Brian O'Keefe to finish calmly. Murroe continued to press and after David Moloney was taken down in the box he dusted himself down to stroke home the peno. As the half came to a close Cappamore exerted some pressure but Murroe back four held firm. 2-0 at the break. Second half Cappamore with some positional changes had a couple of efforts which Jamie Kirby dealt well with. Murroe went 3 up on 5mins with a nice flowing move, Mikey Walsh finding Brian O'Keefe who played lovely through ball for Ciaran Darcy who after a great run , laid it back for David Moloney to strike into the top corner to complete his hattrick. Roan van Dijk & Ciaran D'Arcy both went close soon after. Cappamore never gave up the fight and pulled a goal back with ten mins left with a worldy goal from 25 yards. Murroe held firm with Jeffrey O'Rourke in particular outstanding at the back. Good open game with Murroe deserving of the win.
