Parkville United AFC v St Joseph's AFC
U13 Div 2 25/03 11:00
Parkville United AFC 2 - 1 St Joseph's AFC

Parkville started brightly but after some good St. Joseph's play they took the lead in the 8th min.

They nearly doubled their lead but for a great save from Bradley Stynes in the parkville goal, this inspired Parkville who started to come back into the game with some good play from Ryan Jennings, Dara Murphy and Jordi Coughlin.

With half time approaching James Broughan supplied a lovely cross in for Cody Doyle to equalised with his head.

Parkville started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st half with great play down the line. On one of these plays Oliwia Zaborniak won a corner that was converted to the back of the net by Donnacha Myres.

St. Joe's fought back for an equaliser but the Parkville defence of Dennis Fitzgerald, Joe Smithers, Orhran Byrne and Orhran Murphy came into their own and clear everything that came their way.

In the dying minutes one final chance fell to Parkville after a great through ball from Max O Donohoe who put Cody Doyle in. Dolye was fouled just outside the box and the resulting free kick was put narrowly wide by James Broughan.

That was the end of the action and Parkville held on for their 1st win of the season.

A great team performance.

St Kevins Boys Dublin v St Patrick's Boys AFC
25/03 13:00
St Kevins Boys Dublin 1 - 2 St Patrick's Boys AFC

St. Pats U15 march on to the quarter-finals of the SFAI Trophy after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win in extra time against St. Kevin's. In the initial stages of the match, St. Kevin's dominated possession and created a number of chances, with Luke Dooley making a fantastic save to prevent St. Pats from going behind. However, Pats dug deep and gradually took control of the midfield, thanks to the efforts of Mark Buggy.

Despite having a number of opportunities to score, Pats found it difficult to break down a resolute St. Kevin's defense, and it was only towards the end of the first half that they finally managed to find the back of the net, with Kacper Zarzycki putting them 1-0 up at halftime.

In the second half, Pats continued to dominate but were unable to convert their chances, and St. Kevin's gradually began to find their way back into the game, eventually equalizing to make it 1-1. The match remained level at full-time, leading to extra time.

Both sides had their chances in extra time, but Pats looked the more likely to score, and with just three minutes left before penalties, Mark Buggy produced a moment of magic to score the winning goal and send Pats through to the next round. The match ended 2-1 in Pats' favor, and their victory was well-deserved. Standout performers for Pat's included Ruari McEvoy, Mark Buggy, and Dawid Jarmakow.

St Patrick's Boys AFC 4 - 1 Slaney Rovers AFC

This was a game played under cold but sunny condition on St. Patrick's Boys AFC Astro. This was a game that both sides had to win.

Both teams started well with St. Pat's creating some great chances. St. Pat's scored 1st through Andrew Monteiro about 15 minutes jnto the first half. Despite some impressive defending Andrew scored his second just before the end of the half.

St. Pat's started the second half well and within a few minutes of the start John Hendricken scored a scracker of a goal after some fine footwork to get jim in a position to shoot.

Against the run of play Slaney scored an excellent goal.

Pat's put the game to bed with a fourth goal from Danny Serafin.

Despite constant pressure and many shots on goal St. Pat's were unable to break through a solid Slaney defence.

A good result for St. Pat's. No man of the match as a great overall team performance from 1 to 16.

U13 Div 2 25/03 12:45
Vale Wanderers AFC 3 - 7 Slaney Rovers AFC

On a day of very changeable weather, Slaney got off to a very bright start and took the lead in the first minute of the match from the very first attack of the game.

A young Vale lineup remained under pressure for much of the first half but continued to battle hard and grabbed a goal with a good move which was finished off well by Frankie Doyle to leave the half-time score 1-5 to the visitors.

The heavens opened early in the second half, along with the floodgates, as the two teams shared 4 goals in the second half - the home team playing some very good passing football.

Romeo Sithibe struck an excellent freekick from 25 yards out to the top corner and a good run and tidy finish from Doyle for his second of the match were just reward for a much improved second half performance from the home side.

Ballymurphy Celtic 2 - 1 Crettyard United AFC
This was was a good tight affair between two evenly matched teams with Bally coming out on top thanks to a late brace of goals from James Flood. It was a very even game with few chances in the first half for either teams and the bumpy surface wasn’t helping either teams attempts to play football.Adam Roman was a constant threat on the left wing for Cretty and nearly opened the scoring after 20 mins but Jack Ivers pulled off a brilliant save to keep the game scoreless. At the other end Charlie Foley was also giving Bally a great outlet and on a couple of occasions only the bounce of the ball stopped him from getting a few chances on target. The second half started in the same vein with both teams struggling to pass the ball on a poor surface.Crettyard took the lead on in the 42nd min thanks to a corner taken by Aaron Brennan which somehow evaded three defenders on the front post and ended up in the back of the net.Bally then introduced Danny Jordan for the last 15mins and this sparked them into life, after 51 mins James Flood scored a free kick from 20 yards out after Danny had been fouled on the left hand side of the pitch and following some sustained pressure from Bally they took the lead from a corner by Dylan King which was finished to the back of the net from 5yards out by James Flood with 5mins left.Crettyard pressed hard for the equaliser in the remaining few mins but Bally held strong and took the points with maybe Crettyard a bit unlucky not to take a share of the points. For Bally Charlie Foley,Oisin Fogarty and Danny Jordan were excellent and for Crettyard Adam Rowen,Darragh Curran and Mia Kearney played very well.

Bagenalstown welcomed Hanover to the mgrath park this morning always a good competitive game between these two sides and they trend continued with bagenalstown probably starting the better. The town got plenty of ball down the right hand side with Aiden hickey and james brennan breaking free on more than one occasion. The visitors looked to play on the counter and got through bagenalstowns defence a few times only to be hauled back for offside. Bagenalstown just shading the it with more possession. The second half was more an even game with some good passing moves but both defences on top . Bagenalstown were starting to get on top james brennan comming close with his effort. About mid way through the second half bagenalstowns won a free put wide on the right john Lillis took it and Davey reading powered it home . Hanover gave it there all pressing forward looking for an equaliser but bagenalstowns defence looked comfortable and the town held out for the win. With a full strength squad, the Hanover camp were keen for retribution after suffering defeat to Burrin Celtic two weeks earlier. Vale Wanderers AFC 2 - 2 Parkville United AFC

It was a beautiful sunny morning in The Superbowl as Vale Wanderers welcomed Parkville Utd for what proved to be an exciting game of football. However, It was the visitors who started the brighter grabbing the first goal of the game with Thomàs Doran firing home from close range after a poorly cleared corner kick in the opening minutes. There were half chances for both sides, but the half ended 0-1 to the visitors.

Vale came out after half time a different team and began to play much better football. They got back on level terms when a pass from Diarmuid Redmond found Mathew Jordan, who finished smartly to bring the game level. Vale, now with their tails up turned the screw and following a lofted ball from Jason Kelly, Shaun Sibanda held off the challenges and found the back of the net with around ten minutes left to play.

The Tullow outfit re-grouped and began to search for an equaliser, but the Vale rearguard held firm with Joey Drea and Brendan Byrne making several crucial interventions. One of those clearances led to a late corner and Parkville, with one last push grabbed an equaliser with just minutes left on the clock, which was finished by Kia Quinn and the scoreline finished honours even.

Best for Vale were:

Joey Drea,

Shaun Sibanda,

Best for Parkville were:

Burrin Celtic Win By Three

Nurney Villa AFC 0 - 3 Burrin Celtic AFC

Burrin Celtic came out strongest in this match played in good conditions on an excellent pitch on Saturday morning, with the breeze influencing the game at times, and the sun smiling occasionally during the match.

Burrin started off strongly with some attacks down their right wing, and it was from one of these early attacks that Burrin put in an inviting cross that fell to Leah Fitzgerald 12 yards out. She hammered the ball towards the goal, it hit the underside of the cross bar, rebounded off the back of the unlucky Nurney keeper, and into the net. Both teams worked hard in midfield, with Mai Cradock of Nurney making good progress at times, and she very nearly played in Kelly Tobin through on goal, but the Burrin goalkeeper, Kaitlyn Sheppard, was out very quickly to win the ball at Tobin’s feet. Nurney were forced to make a change, due to an injury to Hannah Watters, who had been putting in great work in the left back position. It is hoped that she makes a speedy recovery. The game was in the balance, one-nil at half-time.

Both teams came out in determined mood in the second half, with both teams pressing forward. However, Burrin it was that got the next goal, with a India Mernagh shot from the edge of the area finding the corner of the net. Nurney pushed forward, but from a Burrin Celtic breakaway, Leah Fitzpatrick killed off Nurney hopes with Burrin’s third goal.

Best for Nurney were Doireann O’Toole, Katie Cowman and Holly Ryan, who all put in great efforts.

Best for Burrin Celtic were Lucy Simms, Shannon Green and Kaitlyn Sheppard.

Parkville hosted Nurney this morning in a league match up. It was Nurney who took advantage early on with a great strike by Kian Michin to put his side 1 up. After things settled Parkville started to grow into the game and found their goal through Adrian Plonka after great work down the right from Tawana. Almost immediately Parkville got the ball out the right again and after a great delivery from Tawana Adrian found himself in a great position to slot home a 2nd for him and Parkville. Parkville were on top for large amounts of the game but couldn't take their chances and after some sloppy defending Nurney took their opportunity to make it 2-2 scored by Conal Dermody. Once again Parkville responded through Tawana when he worked the ball brilliantly down the left flank and scooped the ball over the keepers head which topped off a man of the match display for him on the day. Parkville finally made the pressure count and Adrian Plonka secured his hat trick topping off a clinical display on the day. Great team performance by Parkville.
